Simply follow the map into to town. Take a left on Main Street on to Ski Hill Rd. Follow Ski Hill Rd. around to the top where you will see the base of Peak 8. There is a parking lot available. To get to Peak 9 follow the same directions but take a left at the first light on Ski Hill Rd to Park St. Follow around till the road makes a 90 degree turn. Bear right at this turn and go up to the parking area of Peak 9. There is VERY LIMITED parking here so you must get there by 9:00AM
Breckenridge ski school has great programs for all ages. Teens can be safely cruising the mountain or challenging themselves on the bumps. There are different locations for different ages. Each Peak (8+9) had ski school headquarters for children. The ticket office is the best place to get all the information. Make sure you sign up for everything before arriving to reserve space. You MUST make reservations for the nursery especially during holiday periods.
I would NOT recommend renting on the mountain. It is always more expensive unless you are a beginner (the mountain has great beginner packages). Great Adventure Sports or AMR Ski Rentals, both in the City Market Plaza are pretty competitive and keep their skis in good shape. Likewise for Tree Line Sports on Main St (rte 9). Do not rent something that is inappropriate simply because it is convenient or you are getting the rest of the family's equipment there. Equipment really counts when you are on the slopes. Do not rent in Frisco or other locations- if you have a problem you have to go all the way back to Frisco.
For telemark skiers AMR in the City Market Plaza has great stuff and this years models for you to demo.
I highly recommend you take your lesson at the Peak 8 ski school.
Historically, it is far less crowded and more one on one attention is given to
the students.
Patrick at peak 8 is the best children's instructor. He rocks and the kids
love him.
For beginner to intermediate skiers Steve Hotzler on Peak 8 is the man. He
has a myriad of different ways of explaining information so you can understand it.
For upper level skiing, Mark Bagby is a phenomenon on bumps and in the bowls.
You will be amazed at what you will glean from him by just spending a day with
this Rocky Mountain examiner.

Hands down it is Border Burritos on Peak 8. You get a delicious meal that is filling and won't break your wallet. The noodle bowl at the Mountain House on Peak 8 is also a good meal. Back to Top
The lifts start running at 9:AM. I suggest you get there early to get the
children settled in ski school, get your tickets and organize a meeting place
should anyone get separated. Get a couple of runs in before ski school which
starts at 10:00AM, no need to get to ski school any earlier. The mountain closes on April 20th this year.

Nearly every group has one person who is not interested in skiing but may perhaps
be interested in other activities.
A short walk from our house is the Lodge and Spa. This spa has it all from pool
to the fitness center complete with sauna, hot tubs, steam room, tanning beds,
and classes from aerobics to yoga! Pamper yourself with a facial, herbal
wrap, body scrub or massage. Your body and spirit will glow!!
You can meet your group at the top of the mountain for lunch after taking a
scenic gondola or chair ride.
Convince your group to take an afternoon off and drive up (weather permitting-closed
in winter) the Going to the Sun Road out of Idaho Springs to historic Central
City and Blackhawk. The casinos there are lots of fun! Children are discouraged
from this outing.
You and your group will love the drawn carriage ride through Breck The
tour gives a little insight on the town and how it developed. They provide
blankets for the trip so you can snuggle down and enjoy. There is also and great
evening sleigh ride up at the cross country center.
The snowmobile tours are a must for everyone. Travel along exciting trails and visit
the back country with it's awesome pristine views.
During the summer, there are tours of the local gold mines. They will show you
how to pan for gold and let you have a hand at it. This is a fun outing for the
kids.
Other kids activities include a historic steam engine ride, the alpine slide and
maze, rafting, fishing, swimming, hiking etc. In Denver, there is the zoo,
aquarium, children's museum and baseball games at Coors field.
